Dumdum Boys
Dumdum Boys are returning to the Notodden Blues Festival and the stage where they performed a now legendary concert in 2019.
The roof lifted and the audience practically went off their hinges at the time over a Dumdum Boys in full self-ignition. Now it's time for a long-awaited reunion between Notodden and Dumdum. There's nothing but joy.
In the aftermath of British punk, when the Sex Pistols and The Clash had made young people on both sides of the North Sea believe that three moves could change the world, a band from Norway with the modest name Wannskrækk emerged in 1979. Later they became the Dumdum Boys – and the rest is written into Norwegian rock history. Not just as nostalgia, but as a living link between generations. Since the 80s, they have been called Norway's leading live band. It's a label that usually fades over the years. With Dumdum Boys, it has rather become entrenched, driven by a mixture of devilish ferocity, humor, and stagecraft that always feels acute. New audiences and generations have constantly joined the chorus.
In the summer of 2026, even more people will be able to take part in the Dumdum Boys universe at a small selection of large festivals. Notodden Blues Festival is one of the stops. When the band launched concerts in Norway's four largest cities and the country's largest concert stages earlier this year, they sold out almost immediately. Rock is not about the past or the future, but about the moment that occurs when the songs hit the body - hard, precise and inevitable. Dumdum Boys is a clear leader in Norway.
