Elles Bailey
British Elles Bailey is a singer-songwriter who combines blues, rock and Americana who debuted with a bang with two amazing concerts at the Notodden Blues Festival in 2024.
Our intention was to introduce the audience to a new strong European artist who obviously has a bright future within our musical segment. Everyone who saw Elles Bailey back then loved her. Since then, she has only continued to strengthen her career.
In January, Elles Bailey will release a new album, Can’t Take My Story Away. Advance reviews of the album once again testify that Elles Bailey is one of Britain’s most exciting roots and Americana artists.
Elles Bailey has received formidable recognition at home, both from the blues and Americana community. She wanders freely and uninhibitedly between the different styles of roots music, and continues to accomplish the feat and win both the UK Blues Awards and the UK Americana Awards.
Elles Bailey herself says that she was raised by her father on a diet of blues records from Chess Records and rock 'n' roll. “I love the soul of this music and am captivated by the stories behind these amazing musicians. Etta James, Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, Howlin’ Wolf and Fleetwood Mac. They have all played a role in my musical upbringing,” says Elles Bailey.
The starting point for Elles Bailey's music lies somewhere in the triangle between Memphis and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. A musical gumbo that Tony Joe White perfected and made great success with – also at the Notodden Blues Festival. Perhaps this comparison is not so far-fetched; Bailey's music simply comes from a new generation. It is updated, fresh and relevant. Elles Bailey is an artist that you definitely have to catch at Notodden in 2026!
