Funhouse
Funhouse is one of Norway's most legendary bands, formed by Marius Müller and drummer Totto Hansen in 1989.
They quickly established themselves as a regular fixture at Smuget in Oslo, and got a record deal with Sonet. The band's most famous line-up came about when Pål Reinertsen joined on bass. Songs like "Den du veit" and "Carmen" have proven to have eternal life on Norwegian radio, and concert favorites like "Little Wing" and "All Along The Watchtower" are still in the concert repertoire of today's Funhouse.
Funhouse established itself as a favorite on Norwegian stages and became known for its energetic expression and for combining Müller's own songs with Jimi Hendrix-inspired cover songs. Funhouse released four studio albums and one live album before Marius Müller died in 1999.
Marius Müller's popularity has proven to be durable. When he was supposed to turn 60 on August 20, 2018, friends organized the concert "Den du veit – Marius Müller 60", at Rockefeller. 1500 tickets were sold out. New generations have discovered Marius Müller and Funhouse. This has resulted in big concerts with Funhouse at both rock and blues festivals and clubs in the last couple of years. They have brought with them the energy and joy of playing from the 90s.
With Müller on guitar, Pål Reinertsen on bass, and Totto Hansen/Per Hillestad on drums, they ravaged the country in the 80s and 90s. Power trio was their name, and the starting point was clear: They were going to have fun, it was going to be tough and they were only going to play songs they wanted to play!
In addition to their own songs, they made rocking, and eventually legendary versions of, among others, Hendrix’s Little Wing and Fleetwood Mac’s Oh Well.
Totto Hansen and Pål Reinertsen are the two original Funhouse members. With them in the band they have a star gallery of musicians that includes Per Hillestad, (among others Lava, a-ha, etc.). Hillestad played drums at countless Funhouse concerts as well as the albums Maximum, Det norske huset and Plugged 2. Tommy Kristiansen (Kurt Nilsen, Alan Walker, Sigrid, etc.) is the new guitar demon who has taken on the BIG challenge and filled the guitar role in the band. Vocalist Odd Einar Nordheim (The Voice, Stjernekamp, Spellemann nominee), is a singer's singer and is considered Norway's best-kept vocalist secret. The lineup of today's Funhouse is completed by Kristian Wentzel (Ninjabeat, Crest of Darkness, D'Sound), on keyboards. It's guaranteed to be a party with Funhouse at Notodden Blues Festival 2026.
