Richard Gjems & The High Rollers
Here is the new band that is taking blues Norway by storm.
Richard Gjems has long been known as one of Europe's leading blues harmonica players. He has played with everything from American blues musicians such as Big Bill Morganfield, Taildragger and Bill Sims to Norwegian artists such as Stein Torleif Bjella, Malin Pettersen and DumDum Boys, as well as participating in almost 200 releases and soundtracks in various genres.
With his new album One Hand Clapping (Big H Records), Gjems reveals himself as a distinct voice in a modern musical landscape populated by blues, Americana and rootsy heartland rock. Together with The High Rollers, he creates a unique musical universe based on a symbiosis of tenacious blues riffs and symbolist poetry.
