Since last time, she has become a superstar for blues fans. We knew it in 2023: Here we have gold! It was as expected; Vanessa Collier was an immediate success. From the very beginning, she took Notodden by storm, and became the festival's big talk. 
When we brought her back the following year, it was like part of our plan. She delivered once again. Since then, Vanessa Collier and her band have gone from victory to victory with appearances at the biggest festivals around the world, won new awards and launched a new album, Do It My Own Way, to rave reviews. 
Vanessa Collier is super popular everywhere she goes. With music filled with blues, soul, funk and rock and a fantastic stage personality, she touched everyone in the audience at Notodden.
We like to introduce new artists that we believe in to our audience. For the investment to be more than a passing fad, we need to invest and get them back, as we have successfully done with artists like Beth Hart, DK. Harrell and Shemekia Copeland. 
Vanessa was born in Texas, raised in Maryland, started her career in Philadelphia and now lives in South Carolina. After graduating from the renowned Berklee College of Music, she played in the band of blues legend Joe Louis Walker. Walker eventually encouraged her to start a solo career. The world should be happy about that. She has since been nominated twelve times for the Blues Music Awards, and has received the award five times, both as “Horn Player of the Year” and as “Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year”. In addition, her guitarist, Laura Chavez, was honored with the Blues Music Awards in 2023 as “Instrumentalist – Guitar” as the first woman ever.
