With the tough trio GA-20, the Notodden Blues Festival is launching yet another exciting band for its audience.

Many may remember Matt Subbs, who for fourteen years was guitarist in Charlie Musselwhite's band. Now Stubbs is having great success with the band GA-20. The momentum just keeps building for this retro-old school blues rock trio. The GA-20 is simply onto something big. They have become a movement, a new traditional blues revival. This raw blues trio are disciples of the crossroads where traditional blues meets country and rock 'n' roll.

Matt Stubbs, guitarist and vocalist Pat Faherty and drummer Tim Carman have been at the forefront of the ongoing resurgence of traditional blues ever since they formed in 2018. The blues of the GA-20 is, in its quirky way, traditional and modern at the same time. They find their inspiration at the edges of the genre, where early electric blues first merged with country and rock 'n' roll. It's no wonder they shot straight to the top of the Billboard Blues Charts. - We make records that we would like to listen to, says guitarist Matt Stubbs. "It's our twist on the song-based traditional electric blues we love."

This trio is raw and direct in their music, and just as exciting whether you like blues, soul, country or rock 'n' roll. Right in the middle of nowhere for the audience at Notodden!
