Roosterhouse
Roosterhouse (Gumbo Band) was started in 2012, and well over 100 years of active musical enjoyment were then united. The band was started after a request to be a jam host at the Bellman Pub during the Notodden Blues Festival. This led to the band becoming the host band for the official blues jam there 8 years in a row, as well as a year at the "new Bellman" during the Notodden Bluesweekend in 2020.
The band has played at a number of blues clubs, pubs/taverns and some smaller festivals. Color Line Bluescruise to Kiel in 2017 and in 2023, Drøbak Harbor Festival in 2018 and two concerts on Gran Canaria in 2023 have been some highlights so far. The band plays a gumbo of blues styles. Enthusiasm, joy and love for music is always behind what is done! The band changed its name to Roosterhouse in 2024 and is based in Svelvik, Holmestrand, Kongsberg and Austmarka (Kongsvinger).
The band released the album "Let out the Boogie" in 2018. It contains 15 self-written songs and received good reviews in Blues News. Roosterhouse Gumbo Band is Roger Wang Eriksen; vocals/harmonica, Sverre With; guitar, Jon Kristiansen; bass, Jørn Olafsen; drums and Gjermund Haakerud; piano/vocals.
