Trym (21) is from the blues town of Notodden in Telemark, but is currently studying in Kristiansand. Trym is among Notodden's most active young musicians in the blues/roots genre.

Now he is preparing for the release concert of his forthcoming debut album at the Notodden Blues Festival. The audience is usually used to hearing Trym as a solo artist on stage, but at this concert Trym performs with a full band.

Trym comes from a musical family and his taste in music was formed in the basement of grandfather Arvid Innleggen. Arvid was one of the pioneers in the music scene in Notodden in the 1960s and 1970s. Trym is strongly inspired by his grandfather's record collections. Artists who are central influences for Trym are everything from Kåre Virud, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Muddy Waters and Skip James. Muddy Waters and Skip James were two of the artists who left their mark during the year as a student at the Blues study at the university in Notodden.

When Trym released his first single from the upcoming album, it was in the form of his own very personal version of Kåre Virud's song "Bestefar". There is great excitement about the continuation when Trym now releases its first album during this year's festival.

On the upcoming debut album, Trym writes about his life as a youth growing up in Notodden. The album was recorded in Bluesbyen's own Juke Joint Studio with technicians Halvor Halvorsen and with Morten Omlid as producer.
