She’s back! And the band is being expanded with brass bands!
The super success from the 2023 festival was Vanessa Collier. When we now take her back already the following year, we are doing as we did in her time with Beth Hart when she took Notodden by storm from the start. With additional wind instruments in addition to Collier’s own saxophone, we expand the good festival experience for the audience.
Vanessa Collier is super popular everywhere she goes. This was also the case at Notodden. Not many knew her beforehand, but Vanessa Collier was on everyone’s lips after the festival. With music filled with blues, soul, funk and rock and a fantastic stage personality, she touched everyone in the audience at Notodden. It would be criminal not to take her back.
Vanessa Collier have won three Blues Music Awards; “Horn Player of the Year” (2019 and 2020) and“Contemporary Female Blues Artist of the Year” (2022). Hun er også Blues Blast Award Winner som “Horn Player of the Year” både i 2022 og 2023.
Since 2017 Vanessa Collier have been nominated for a Blues Music Award eight times. That is the same amount as Shemekia Copeland, Beth Hart, Ruthie Foster and Samantha Fish.
