Adama Janlo

Discover something new and exciting at Notodden 2025. Discover a new star. Discover Adama Janlo.

The multi-talented Adama Janlo is a firework of a vocalist and has been described as "the most powerful and energetic soul voice" by music journalist Rolf E. Wulluf. She operates within blues, neo soul and gospel. Last year she released her debut EP "Misaligned", which received 10/10 from Musikknyheter, and held a sold-out release concert at Kulturhuset I Oslo the same evening.

This year she also debuted as an actor in the Opera itself in the play My Story: Hope Road 56 Revisited, written by director Cliff Mustache and staged by Nordic Black Theatre. Adama Janlo was awarded this year's Young Artist scholarship by the Norwegian Blues Union at the Notodden Blues Festival.

The following review was written about her by Bluesnews:
“How could this powder keg of a soul singer and stage performer have gone under the radar of so many for so long? Adama can certainly become Norway's next big singing star! Festivals and clubs, get this lady on the poster now!”

With a sold-out premiere, Janlo debuted with his first performance, "Ganu Fɔlɔ Donkɛ" (The story of my life), on 30 October during the Oslo World Festival, in collaboration with Nordic Black Theatre.

Adama Janlo has attended the Little Stevens Blues School for several years. Therefore, you may have seen her on stage at Notodden earlier. She says she loves the Notodden Blues Festival. Now Adama Janlo and Notodden Blues Festival are taking a step further together. It is a pleasure to introduce her for the first time with her own concert at the Notodden Blues Festival.
