Alice Armstrong Band

Winner of this years European Blues Challenge is coming til Notodden!

British Alice Armstrong is experiencing great success these days. She and her band are the new winners of the European Blues Challenge, the European blues championship, in competition with strong candidates from 22 other countries. Armstrong was also recently named UK Contemporary Blues Artist of the Year. Now the British rising star is ready for the Notodden Blues Festival 2025.

As always, the winner of the European competition will come to the Notodden Blues Festival. With the Alice Armstrong Band, the audience can expect an explosive performance with a charismatic frontman and a top-notch British blues band at Notodden on Thursday, July 31st.

Alice Armstrong fuses modern blues, funk, soul and rock 'n' roll and has recently made a name for herself with electrifying and sold-out shows across the UK and Europe. Backed by a world-class band, and often referred to as a combination of Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin, their performances are described as a "party" by fans and press, leaving audiences laughing, crying and dancing all the way home.

Armstrong has been voted UK Modern Blues Artist of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, won the UK Blues Challenge in 2024 and are now winners of the European Blues Challenge 2025. All the publicity and activity has led to the Alice Armstrong Band being popular at clubs and festivals across Europe, and they have been invited to play on Joe Bonamassa's iconic Mediterranean Blues Cruise. British blues has always been a staple in Norway. Now you should make sure to get to know a new British artist at this year's Notodden Blues Festival.
