Sivert Høyem
Sivert Høyem is one of Norway's biggest artists over the past twenty years, both as frontman in the legendary band Madrugada and for his successful solo career.
Now it's time for him to enchant the audience at the Notodden Blues Festival. Høyem has been on our wish list for a few years, and thus he will be a nice gift for us to wrap up for Christmas this year. Sivert Høyem will close the opening night at the Notodden Blues Festival on Thursday 31 July. This evening also includes Austin Texas' own blues legend, Jimmie Vaughan and our new crowd favorite D.K. Harrell.
With his latest album "On an Island", Høyem once again proved why he is considered one of the most prominent voices in recent Norwegian music history. The album was praised by critics for its raw and melancholic beauty, and marked a new milestone in an already high-profile artist career, both at home and abroad.
Høyem's music is described as timeless, melancholic and with an ability to transport the listener to northern Norwegian landscapes, where the wind howls and the nights are long. With songs like "Prisoner of the Road", "Moon Landing", "Into the Sea" and the iconic Madrugada classic "Majesty", we know we're in for a world-class concert experience. It will also be extra exciting when we hear rumors that a new Høyem album will be released well before the summer.
You just have to get ready to let Sivert Høyem's powerful voice and gripping stage personality fill you with an unforgettable rock atmosphere. With Jimmie Vaughan and D.K. Harrell on the same ticket, this will be an opening night for the memory books at the Notodden Blues Festival on Thursday 31 July 2025.
