This spring, Trygve Skaug once again opens his heart to the world with a new album, "Ikke Slipp". The title track has already found its way into the light, and Trygve continues his faithful rhythm with two albums a year, like a pulse and in step with the times. Much to the delight of his ever-growing audience, who find comfort, strength and community in his words and melodies, from north to south, from small café stages to large concert halls.
Skaug is not only a songwriter and musician, he is one of Norway's best-selling poets, a voice that whispers, shouts and embraces. His words wander from hand to hand, shared like secrets in the night, like light in the darkness. The poetry collections "Folg med nå" (2019) and "Ikke slipp" (2020) alone have found their way to thousands of bookshelves, arms and hearts. Also later publications "Hjemmekamp" (2020), "Opprykk" (2021), "Dikt til navngitte menn" (2022) and "Det går over" (2024) have touched readers and topped the sales lists. In an interview with VG, Skaug says about his success:
- That people find comfort in my words comforts me too. My lyrics are written naked, honest and without embellishment. That's why it hits me hard when I see that they mean something to others.
The musical journey in front of an audience began as a vocalist in St. Morritz in 2006, but in 2012 he took the step into the solo landscape. There he has since wandered, releasing 10 albums, including a compilation album with KORK and the trilogy "Sanger du skal få...". In 2017 he was nominated for the Spellemannprisen for "Sanger du skal få när jeg dör", and in 2021 he really got the people on board when he participated in "Hver gang vi møtes". Later that year he received the Bjørg Vik Prize, a tribute to his ability to touch and seduce with words, to make poetry come alive for new generations through social media and modern communication channels.
In the spring of 2025, he will once again take his guitar on his back and hit the road, out to the world's finest audience, those who wait for him, invite him in, fill the room with anticipation and applause.
With his guitar in the car and his songs in his pocket, he will hit the road again. Get ready for a close and warm encounter with the man, musician and poet Trygve Skaug in the fantastic Heddal Stave Church.
