Good Time Charlie

ThursdayAugust 1kl. 20:20Bellmann

The Kindergarten Blues at Notodden Blues Festival is one of the best events at the entire festival. The children from all the kindergartens in Notodden gather here.

After the event was moved to the beautiful park outside Bok & Blueshuset, this has become an inclusive event for the whole family where parents and grandparents are more than happy to join. This year's concert is perfect family entertainment that invites to a magical time for young and old. Jubelblues with Good Time Charlie is suitable for the whole group of children - from 0-100 years!

Jubelblues is a fantastic children's project from the Norwegian blues pioneers in Good Time Charlie. Few Norwegian bands have taken the blues as seriously in an inclusive and entertaining way as Good Time Charlie. With their first record, Coming Down With The Blues, they helped create something new in the Norwegian context. In recent years, the band has also perfected itself in playing concerts for the whole family. There have so far been four records in the Jubelblues series.

With the family concept Jubelblues, Good Time Charlie has hit the inner tier in playing the blues for children of all ages. Jubelblues is a shared musical experience and fun for young and old. Here everyone can participate - it's about being able to use their spontaneity in a good and playful way. The music is energetic rhythm and blues in the familiar Good Time Charlie style. The songs are easy to sing along to, and throughout there is wonderful humour, wild pranks and free imagination. All you have to do is shout bravo for children's blues with cool lyrics, tough tunes and a high sing-along factor!

Svein Andersen in Aftenposten wrote about Jubelblues that "Children deserve this! The lyrics are fun, casual and sometimes little adventures in themselves. At the same time, the whole thing is experienced as spontaneous, close and inclusive for both young and old." And Johnny Andreassen wrote the following in Blues News: "I think there are very few record releases like this that embrace both old and young forever."

Jubelblues has been played at e.g. Bergenfest Ung, Vossajazz, Sildajazz, Canal Street Festival, Nidaros Bluesfestival, Falturiltu children's book festival, Notodden Blues Festival and Kongsberg Jazzfestival. Jubelblues has also been extensively used on tours for Kulturtanken and DKS. Songs from the Jubelblues records can be found on the playlists of NRK Radio Super.
