Get ready for a gem of a concert when Paal Flaata brings his regular partner, Gøran Grini, and other good musical friends to the Folk & Blues stage at the Notodden Blues Festival. Paal Flaata is in possession of one of the nation’s most beautiful voices and with his music that elegantly mixes blues, country, rock and folk, he is made for the Notodden Blues Festival’s Folk & Blues Stage.

Paal Flaata has enchanted audiences throughout a recording career spanning more than 25 years – the last 20 of them as a solo artist – with a voice that seems out of this world.

In the 1990s, Paal Flaata made a splash as frontman and vocalist in Midnight Choir. They released 5 albums and received the Spellemannsprisen for the critically acclaimed album, Amsterdam Stranded. As a solo artist, Flaata has released a total of 10 albums, which has resulted in three Spellemann nominations. (Wait By The Fire, Come Tomorrow and Love and Rain). Paal has shown that he is in a class of his own as an interpreter of other people’s songs. His latest album, “New Green Grass Will Grow” (2022) consists of cover songs by, among others, Randy Newman, Jacques Brel and Daniel Norgren.

Paal Flaata is one of the most touring artists in this country, and together with pianist and producer Gøran Grini has played on most Norwegian stages. Now it is the idyllic Folk & Blues Stage at the Notodden Blues Festival that is on the way. In addition to Gøran Grini, Paal Flaata also has Frederik Mustad (organ) and Jørn Raknes (guitar) with him.
